So Long 2009

February - I finally had sinus surgery after batteling a 8 month infection.

March - Chase left for Yuma, AZ for 6 weeks.

June - Morghan and I flew to Texas for 2 weeks to spend time with family.

July - Chase raced home on a plane a day early after being in Utah for a week to be home for July 4th. We had a great time at the beach with friends and Chase ended up fracturing my hand by slamming the truck door on it.

We spent the last week in July going to DisneyWorld for the first time. We had a blast, although next time Chase and I would like to go by ourselves to some other parks.

September - Chase again left via airplane, only this time he left the country for Norway. It was a tough trip since I couldn't just pick up the phone and call whenever I wanted. I had to wait, and I hated it.

Morghan turned 3. I never cried till the day she turned 3. It was then I realized how much she had truly grown, and the she was no longer a baby, or even a little girl by her standards. We are always being corrected that she is in fact, a big girl.

October - After a follow up with an ENT we learned that Morghan was going to need her tonsils and adenoid removed. I battled with myself for a few weeks before deciding to go through with th procedure.

She was a witch for halloween had accumulated quite a bit of candy that night!

November - Marine Corp Ball was fantastic. Everything was so much fun and I'm glad we had some great people to hang out with. By the way, if you are ever downtown on River St. and happen in to Wet Willies, be careful what you drink!

Surgery for Morghan came and went and she is back to the sassy girl I love. Times were trying in the few weeks she couldn't be back at school making me realize that I honestly don't think I could ever go back to being a stay at home mom. I love her to death, but I was so stir crazy!

December - Ventured out to Texas for my Father-in-laws wedding to the new lady. Its great to see him so happy. It snowed the morning after we got there so that was amazing. Morghan was timid at first but after it stopped snowing she was ready to go!

Christmas was perfect. We were worried for a while because 2 of the presents that I ordered were cancelled and I was never notified and did not find out until I talked to 3 different people in customer service 3 days before Christmas. We ran out on Christmas Eve and grabbed her a couple replacement toys. Though I'm disappointed they arent what I wanted Morghan actually was super thrilled about them!

Gum, Scissors, and A Prayer

Gum
How my child ended up with gum in here hair I still can not figure out. I don't even buy gum, so at best I figure it was in some candy she got from school that I overlooked. This led to a drastic haircut of about 5 inches. It took 3 years to grow her hair out and on Christmas Eve I had to cut it off. Unfortunately the picture on the right was taken when she woke up one morning.

Scissors
Now I keep all my hair cutting items in a drawer in the closet. Morghan knows this and for 2 years has NEVER touched it. Today in the 5 seconds that it took for Chase to come in the office so I could show him something on the computer... she got the scissors. Lesson she learned this day was to not run with scissors. We suddenly heard her screaming and she came in to the office holding her leg screaming. We quickly wondered if she was being a bit over dramatic (as she often is) so Daddy scooped her up to find out what happened. The next few words sent me flying out of the room on a hunt. "The scissors did it." SCISSORS!? I could not figure out where she got scissors. I could only think of paper cutting type and all those were on top of the fridge. When I spotted the closet and drawer I knew what I was looking for and found them just under the edge of the couch. Quick as I could, I got her pants down and sure enough there was a deep gash in her thigh! I felt horrible for her. I was freaking out, and after all was said and done she has a lone stitch on her leg.

A Prayer
We were on our way home from somewhere ( I can't even remember where now) and on the last road before our neighborhood. Suddenly the lady in front of me is breaking and I was late noticing. To make things worse, we are at a crazy intersection and the road I'm on is only 2 lanes. Instantly I hit the brakes and turn slightly right off the road to avoid hitting her throwing me onto the cross road. (When you are going just under 60mph stopping doesn't come quickly!) Unfortunately she is also turning right at this intersection, and somehow I turn again to avoid her. It is a miracle no one was killed or even injured in all this. I managed to pull onto a third road (that runs parallel to the one I was one to begin with.. I told you it was a crazy intersection) and come to a stop. I could not even catch my breath really, or perhaps I simply stopped breathing. A few moments later the lady I almost rear ended, and then t-boned pulls up next to me to see if I am in fact alright. We speak for a few moments and she drives away. I go in to tears because I'm not the only one in the car. My husband and daughter are there and I endangered them all because I wasn't giving the road 100% attention. We were only a half mile from home but Chase drove. I was shaking and crying the whole way home .That night I said a new prayer.

Most of my prayers are asking for God to do things such as watching over friends and family, keeping everyone safe asking for the strength to get through tough times, etc. It has been a long time since I said a prayer and thanked God for all the He has given to me. That night I prayed a lot. I needed Him to know that I was truly thankful for everything in my life and that by taking things for granted it could have cost lives.
