"Lema-lade"

So lately Morghan has been saying all these phrases from no where and they tend to catch us off guard. They aren't bad, we just don't expect it. I suppose we are refusing to accept she's getting older and we expect "baby talk" still although she is one of the best speakers in her class since long ago. An example would be that we were out grocery shopping a few days ago and I felt like I was in the Pediasure commercial. "I don't like that bread. I don't like that chicken. etc" This goes on the entire shopping trip then suddenly Morghan looks at me and says "Momma? How about ice-cream?" The child wants NOTHING from the store except to get ice cream! I just love when she uses a new word for the first time and my favorite 2 words are "lema-lade" (lemonade)and "horridle"(horrible). The way she uses the latter of the two makes me laugh every time. The other day her daddy was cleaning up after our new puppy when Morghan exclaimed "Oh Daddy! That's just so horridle!" Her personality is changing everyday and we are seeing more and more of her. I can't believe in 2 months she will be 3 years old!

So its been so long that up until this post you may not know that we got a new puppy! We actually rescued him if you will. When we took him in he was only 4 weeks old weighing less than 3 pounds. Morghan's stuffed puppy dog was bigger than him. Shoot, a Chihuahua looked big next to him! We named him Gunner, he is a Husky with sable colors and markings. Not your traditional black, silver, white huskies. We love him none the less. We nursed him back to health and today he is doing great at 8 weeks old. His temperament is great for a puppy. He isn't incredibly hyper and loves to be cuddled. I like to think that having him when he was 4 weeks old helped lol. Morghan has had a complete attitude change since we brought him home. She loves to help take him outside, put him in is crate, feed him, brush him, etc. She went from being a complete and total terrible two year old to one that's manageable. We worried she might have jealousy issues but NONE! NON-EXISTANT! Which only gives me that much more confidence that she would be great with a little sibling. Here is a picture of Morghan and Gunner taking a nap on the couch last week. (awful quality because it was dark and my cell phone doesn't have a flash)

Recently Chase went to Utah for a week and made it back just in time for July 4th. We headed out to the beach with about 30 other people. It was a great time to say the least! We took our camping grill from Chase's dad and made hamburgers, hot dogs... all American food! Morghan built sand castles and went swimming, and when it got dark we did fireworks. Did I mention that we went through about 15-17 cases of beer? So you'd think with that much beer and fireworks someone is BOUND to get hurt right? RIGHT! Only it wasn't a drunk person, it was the sober designated driver...me. While packing up the truck I climbed up to help Chase tie up the camping grill on top of the Yukon. Well he didn't see my hand when he climbed down and shut the door. He heard it, my friends heard it. That unpleasant sound bones can make. So there I am a bit hysterical from the pain (only scaring the little girls in the back seat more). We found another sober person and we took off. We dropped the girls off and we finally made it to the ER and hour after the incident took place. So I'm rushed upstairs to X-ray, the whole time I'm shaking so bad my teeth are chattering. The doctor sees me right away (the nurse wanted me to wait). He examines my hand briefly for complete breaks and nerve damage before viewing the x-ray. Sure enough, a teeny tiny crack. He doesn't feel that it warrants a cast so I get a splint, that I hate and couldn't keep on. Well now I just wear a brace, and everything seems to be okay as long as nothing directly hits the top of my hand. I figure there probably some pretty good bone bruises. I hope to have pictures soon that I can post.

Right now we are anxiously awaiting July 26th. Our first family vacation. It is but it isnt. We always spent our "vacation" going home to visit family and the occasionally friends we could fit in. You could say we are on strike from going home. We do. We are exhausted and stressed from trips home. Its expensive and its a lot of stress, mostly because we usually go home around holidays so we have a lot of family to fit in a short amount of time. It causes us to fight so we said we are through. We agreed to not go home during holidays anymore because of the weakness it creates in our marriage. We also have agreed that we should not make another trip home to Texas until they can visit us. We've even thought about driving half way and letting the grandparents take Morghan lol. Instead, this year, we are going to Florida. Its not much, and its just a week... but its OUR week. We have been saving for this trip and couldn't be more excited. 8 days and counting!

You think this post is long enough? I do...
